Introduction of casters for the manufacturing of turbine towers and wind power generation components.
Developed a roller with a load capacity of 100 tons! A case that achieved improved load-bearing capacity and safety.
We would like to introduce a case where a heavy-duty drive roller using Blickle Extrathane polyurethane tread, model 'STHN 620×1000/180-1000-937434', was implemented by a company providing solutions for the wind power industry. Until now, due to high load-bearing requirements, steel wheels were used for the turning rolls. However, because of their high rigidity, vibrations occurred when rotating the tower with the turning rolls, adversely affecting the weld joints, leading to poor surface quality of the cylindrical curved surface and insufficient roundness. In response, engineers from Blickle closely collaborated with the company to develop a roller with a load capacity of 100 tons. As a result, the installation process was significantly simplified, and by distributing the load, it became possible to reduce the wheel axle diameter, leading to substantial cost savings. [Challenges] - The surface quality of the cylindrical curved surface had deteriorated, resulting in insufficient roundness. - To meet load-bearing requirements, it was necessary to equip four wheels adjacent to each other. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
